DTPTranscoder is responsible for transcoding multimedia files from 1 format into another. This trancoder uses FFMPEG software to perform transcoding proccess. You don't have to install FFMPEG application on your serwer with jPALIO, DTPTranscoder has it built in. DTPTranscoder can be started by pluging it into jPALIO instance as listener or by executing it from command line. If u want to start DTPTranscoder as a listener, you have to configure it in following way:

The meaning of all properties is:
class - transcoder class name. Must be equal to dtp.transcode.DTPTranscoder.
sourceDir - source folder where multimedia files will be looked for.
wrongDir - directory, where multimedia files are moved if an error occured during transcoding proccess.
workDir - directory, where source destination files are kept during transcoding proccess.
targetDir- directory, where source files are moved after transcoding proccess.
proxyDir- directory, where transcoded files are stored.
extension - extension of transcoded files. Default value is .mp4
fileFormat - format of streams encapsulation in transcoded file. Default value is mp4
audioCodec - output audio codec. Default value is libmp3lame
audioBitrate- output audio bitrate for. Default value is 32000
audioSamplingRate - output audio sampling rate. Default value is 22050
videoBitrate - output video bitrate. Video quality highly depends on this value. Default value is 320000 bits/s
videoCodec - output videod codec. Default value is mpeg4
videoSize - output video size. May be set as a percentage value of original file (33% or 50% or 100%) or may be set explicitly just by specifying size of frame in pixels (320x240 or 640x480 etc). Default value is 100% - size of frame from oryginal file.
loggerFile - path to the logger file.
connector - connector name used to store result of transcoding in database. Default value is palio
saveResultInDb - if true then result of transcoding will be stored in database in table VA_MATERIALS. Default value is false.
waitForFiles - if true then will not finish its execution after transcoding files and will wait for new files to transcode when they are copied to source folder. If false is set, then transcoder will finish its execution after transcoding all files in source folder. Default value is true.
